If you were in the market for a cheap new mattress, the NFL and the NFL Players Association are offering a few tricks for you.
If you have the cash, the league and union will pay for it.
If not, you might have to wait until next season to find out.
The NFLPA said it will cover air mattresses as long as they are used by a person who has been a member of the league for at least five years, and are used in a professional manner.
That includes a person working as a referee, assistant coach or offensive lineman for a game.
If the mattress is used for other purposes that do not qualify as a professional use, the player must pay the cost of the mattress.
The players will pay all costs associated with replacement or repair of the air mattress.
This is an update to a story that originally ran in November 2016.
The new rule is effective immediately, the union said in a statement.
But if you have an air mattress in your garage, or you’ve been using one for the last month or so, you may have to sit out next season.
